Philosophy of Rainbow Garden Preschool

Rainbow Garden Preschool is primarily a playschool dedicated to providing a caring, enriching and joyful place that fosters the growth of children, families and teacher Jill. In a cooperative environment filled with an enthusiastic teacher and occasionally parents, activities are provided which challenge and excite kids, as well as help them to feel supported and accepted.

Facilities

Our little yellow school house has the feel of a small, fertile preschool, with ever-changing curriculum areas full of opportunities. The nature corner changes with the seasons.
Both inside and outside there are easels and large tables for art and more.
The attached yard is filled with fun places to climb, swing, dig & imagine.
Some days we head over to "the big house" to cook, have lunch, dance and play the drums.
Our "big yard" has chickens to feed, eggs to collect, and places to run, balance, swing and explore the natural world around us.

Our Day

At Rainbow Garden structure and flexibility combine to create an environment which responds to what is currently fascinating the children.

9:00 Arrival & Inside Time
Kids enter the preschool to be greeted with music, warmth and choice. Art & other tactile opportunities (playdough, shaving cream) are offered, as well a free choice of inside activities which change regularly.

Tell us about your experience with young children and the environment you have created for them at Rainbow Garden.
I bring a wealth of experience, education and passion to my sweet little program for preschool kids. I've spent over 19 years working with children and have B.A degrees in both Early Childhood Education (cum laude) and Community Health Education. In 1996 I won the Center Child Care Professional Award of Sonoma County.
